On 9 June 2010, the Secretary of State for Health, Andrew Lansley MP, announced a public inquiry into Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust. The public inquiry has been formed under the Inquiries Act 2005, and will look at the operation of the commissioning, supervisory and regulatory bodies responsible for the Trust. RobertFrancis QC will be the Chair.
